You must purchase the HP10B11 calculator (can be purchased on the UBC site or any office supply store). The UBC course fee is $945 including tax & exam fee.
NOTE: All UBC assignments must be completed within one year of registration. You can write the UBC Mortgage Brokers Course exam anytime your assignments are completed and passed, and you will need to provide UBC with acceptable English requirements. Being a Mortgage Broker in British Columbia is exciting and an ever increasing profession. Go from dreaming it to making it a Reality in a mere few weeks! (Sub) Mortgage Brokers act as an intermediary selling mortgage loans on behalf of individuals or businesses. In other words, an agent who compares the various home loan options on the market for a client and then arranges loans for them. A Sub Mortgage Brokers’ commission is paid each mortgage transaction by the lender. They work closely with Realtors, Developers, Lenders and others.
To become a (Sub) Mortgage Broker the University of British Columbia (UBC) offers a Sub Mortgage Brokers course through correspondence.
Once you register online, UBC sends you all their textbooks and 20 assignments to complete. You are on your own to learn the Law and Math, and complete all of the Assignments in preparation for the exam. Sadly there is a very high failure rate on the UBC exam.
